Recombiant Tissue Plasminogen Activator (rt-PA)
This is a research study involving a comparison of two different treatments for advanced or metastatic pancreatic cancer. In the past the standard treatment for advanced pancreatic cancer was to treat the cancer with a single chemotherapy drug (Gemcitabine). It is not known if adding a second chemotherpay drug will help destroy or slow the cancer. A new two drug combination is being investigated in this study in using the chemotherapy drug Irinotecan (CPT-11) in addition to Gemcitabine. This combination of Irinotecan and Gemcitabine will be compared to the standard therpay of Gemcitabine alone.
